The 19^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, at 9:00 A.M. 18 October, 2017. Organized by the Party Committee of MS&E, over 60 staff and students watched its live opening ceremony, listening to the report made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on behalf of the Central Committee (CCCPC) --- “Secure a Decisive Victory in Building a Moderately Prosperous Society in All Respects and Strive for the Great Success of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”.

     The students discussed while talking. They came to an agreement that the nation has made tremendous achievements under the leadership of CPC in the past five years since the 18^th National Congress of CPC. The 19^th National Congress is a meeting of great importance taking place during the decisive stage in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and at a critical moment for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The meeting relates the nation’s major missions of securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society and deepening the socialist modernization construction, which is critical to the Party, the nation, the future of socialism with Chinese characteristics, as well as the fundamental interests of the people. Furthermore, it also connects with the future and fate of each of us. We should rigorously study and interpret the spirit of the meeting, as what Xi said:” Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, hold high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, strive for the great new era, and work tirelessly to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation”.
